I remember when Ka and I were working multiple jobs between us and claiming benefits from the government, but still barely able to make ends meet, or even
buy enough food for our kids which is a pretty scary place to be. Juggling work and family life back then just equalled stress... For many people,
the dream of quitting the weekday grind in the name of freedom sounds like a great way to escape the pressures of everyday life. For others though,
like it was for us, it's a real goal.
Costa Rica is where we spend most of our time, and we love it so much here that we're building an Eco-home which we can't wait to see come together! Why
do we choose to spend our time here more than anywhere else? Because it's a warm and inviting country to visit with an extraordinarily laid back atmosphere
- you may have noticed we're pretty laid back people. ;-)
While we're currently in Germany with our 5 kids, and awaiting the arrival of our new baby daughter, the beaches of Costa Rica are never far from our mind
:-) Costa Rica is a favorite destination for people of all ages and walks of life. For the most part, they come to enjoy the wonderful sunshine and
the cheerful beaches that line the Caribbean coastline and since this is quite an energetic place to visit, there's plenty of nighttime entertainment
for the more adventurous people too, so we wanted to share some cool hotspots for you to visit when you come :-)
We're pretty adventurous, you may know this from following our YouTube videos or just hanging out in our Facebook groups. We live about half the year in
Costa Rica and along with the beautiful scenery and adventure tourism, it's probably most known for offering a variety of adrenaline-fueled outdoor
activities (the kind of activities that make you really know you're alive!!)
One of the things we truly believe in when it comes to abundant life, is good health. We eat a great deal of fresh fruits and vegetables, and natural whole
foods, we exercise and when we're in Costa Rica we love to meditate, swim daily, and do Yoga. It's the perfect place to take really good care of yourself
and your family.
Anyone who is a parent probably wonders how traveling affects children and rightly so - we get asked a lot about this ourselves. It's certainly a very
important question and we thought we'd share some of our observations with you guys :-)
Traveling to Costa Rica with children is an excellent idea because this Central America country welcomes families like no other, and their values are really
connected to family life and kids. We absolutely love it here for several reasons, which is why we've decided to build our very first eco-house here,
which we're so excited about!!
Everyday we're asked an abundance of questions on what it's like to travel with kids. The first thought many parents have when it comes to traveling with
their kids is the extra work it involves, and of course the potential for problems and uncomfortable situations along the way (yes we've had our fair
